Magnolia Parks as a character fascinated me. She’s glamorous, complicated, and so flawed—but that’s what made her feel real. She makes terrible choices, she self-sabotages, and yet you can’t help but ache for her. And BJ… he’s infuriating, heartbreaking, and magnetic all at once. The two of them together are chaos, but it’s the kind of chaos that feels destined. Their love story isn’t healthy, but it’s raw and unforgettable.

Jessa Hastings writes with such tenderness and pain that I often felt like I was intruding on something private—like I shouldn’t be watching, but I couldn’t put the book down. The banter, the longing, the jealousy, the betrayals—it all felt larger than life and yet so achingly human. At times, I wanted to scream at the characters to just get it together, but deep down I knew that was the point. This isn’t about perfection, it’s about love in its messiest, truest form.

For me, this was an emotional 4-star read. It was beautiful, frustrating, and absolutely addicting. Magnolia Parks is the kind of book that makes you feel everything—the hope, the hurt, the hunger—and leaves you craving more even when it breaks your heart.

Quotes

How many loves do you get in a lifetime?
Can you die from a broken heart, do you know? And if I did and they cut me wide open, would I bleed loving him? When they lift my heart out of my chest cavity to weigh it, does it weigh the same as his top lip? Is his name carved into my third rib to the left? Bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh. He's killing me. Loving him is killing me too, and I'm afraid because how many loves really, do you get in a lifetime? How many chances do you give it before you let it go?
Because she can only hate me how she hates me because she loves me how she loves me.
