Top 3 Books Spicy Reads of 2024

You’ve asked for it, below are 3 of my top books for 2024!

Satins Affair By H.D. Carlton

I started this book thinking, “WTF am I reading?” I put it down after the first chapter and didn’t pick it back up for months. After finally convincing myself to finish it I ended it thinking, “I am obsessed with this unhinged doll-chick.” I love the character growth in this house. The twists and turns it takes really kept me on the edge of my seat. Sibby is a bad bitch that I would have a beer with. Definitely worth the read!

Notable Quotes:

“He’s not God’s disciple. He’s Lucifer’s little bitch.”

“You can’t hide from fate. That’s the funny thing about destiny, even if you try to escape it, it will always find you.”

Hunting Adeline By H.D. Carlton

*Trigger Warnings*

R**e, Graphic Violence, Sexual Assault, Explicit Sexual Situations, Human Trafficking, PTSD, Blood Play, Knife Play, Degradation, Somnophilia

I will start by saying that this book is so much better than the first. I was hooked from the very being to the end! I went through every emotion while reading just as the main characters did, growing so attached to them and wanting nothing but the best. This book will keep you turning the page instead of turning off the lights to sleep. The Cat and Mouse duet is just what I was looking for.

Quotes:

“Heaven isn’t a place you go to when you die, it’s inside the person that’s worth dying for.”

“We’re going to burn down the world together.”

“Scars only serve as reminders of what we’ve survived, not what killed us.”

Hooked By Emily Mcintire

This is a true enemy to lovers’ love story. A true villain and a good girl who falls in love with him despite all his flaws. The Peter Pan references were subtle but added such a nice throwback to a classic story. No, this isn’t a retelling or a fantasy but  truely a dark romance, where the main character is a villain and what a beautiful villain he is.

Quotes:

“Darling, if I’m the dark, then you’re the stars.”

“I’ll sacrifice my soul a thousand times over in order to stay with his.”

“It’s how you rise from the ashes after everything burns.”
